Job Seekers - Tips

WORK / LIFE BALANCE?  NEED IT?  WANT IT?

What’s important to you?  Work?  Personal life?  A balance?

Realizing that we spend more time on the job than we do with our family and/or friends is the first step toward a balanced and fulfilling lifestyle.

Can you relax and enjoy your life outside of the office?  Is this something that’s important to you?

When business comes to a close and you're back at home with family, friends or all by yourself, are you happy, complete and fulfilled?

It is possible to wake in the morning and make your way to a career that you enjoy!

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?

A good match is critical.

If you're looking for anything less than a "marriage" relationship with your career, you are doing yourself, and your employer, a great disservice.

You have many skills to offer, but that doesn't mean that you enjoy every skill or talent you possess.

Re-access your work history.  Evaluate all of the skills in positions you've held that you have truly enjoyed.

Make a list of positive and negative points for each position you’ve held.

Commit to your decision to move forward!  Don't resort to "shopping" for positions to simply further your career with your current employer.  Remember, your initial thoughts to change employers happened for a reason -- and those reasons rarely change with a pay increase!

Once you've completed your personal evaluation, good recruiters are happy to assist you in thoroughly assessing your work history, critiquing your resume, and coaching you on proper interviewing etiquette.

Once you've met with a recruiter, follow-up yourself from time to time but be understanding if you don't get an immediate response!  After all, a recruiter's time benefits you most when they are speaking with employers!!!!!
